In the completed model, the areas captured from various angles—such as the concrete sections of the weir and the surrounding terrain—are reconstructed with relative accuracy.
On the other hand, the accuracy is lower for the area around the road where the car was traveling and the trees swaying in the wind.
Generally, the accuracy tends to be lower around moving objects.
Also, textures are not applied to surfaces that are not visible from the camera.
Furthermore, relatively thin objects, such as tree branches, are difficult to reconstruct using photogrammetry.
If such details are necessary, it is often more effective to take separate close-up photos of those specific elements and reconstruct them individually.
The shape of the building visible only slightly in the distance is barely reconstructed in the model.
If you want to focus on objects in the distance, selecting the “Orthographic” option may yield better results.
Currently preparing another drone example..
I also plan to test shooting from a flat, downward angle without wrapping around the object. I expect that while the accuracy of the surface details may be slightly reduced, reconstruction should still be possible as long as there are no blind spots.
